2024 Update: We are thrilled to announce that as part of our commitment to growth and clarity in our mission, we have officially changed our name from The Mayor’s Health & Fitness Council to The Mayor’s Health & Well-Being Council.

While our name may have changed, our dedication to making Austin the healthiest community in the nation remains steadfast. We are excited about this new chapter and look forward to continuing our journey with you.

 

The Mayor’s Health & Well-Being Council (MHWC), previously known as The Mayor’s Health & Fitness Council, is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization, founded in 2004. Its vision is for Austin to be the healthiest community in the country. Its mission is to provide community connections, build alliances & support the implementation of best practices and programs to improve health & well-being.

The council is focused on providing community connections, building alliances & supporting the implementation of best practices and programs to improve health & well-being and truly affect positive change to healthy lifestyles.
